RESIDENCY AT GOVERNOR’S ISLAND. AUTUMN 2017
Wall size paintings of refugee land with audio activated projected arabic text on the floor and through the windows and over the paintings on one wall. This text is a poem written by an anonymous Syrian refugee. This audio activation is enlisted though APE, a software I created and requires a projector and laptop. The frequencies and amplitudes of any voices in the room, create a new line or letter of the poem. Final show included a live performance with vocal artist Ami Yamasaki
