I am an interdisciplinary artist working across painting, film, interactivity, and trans-media production to explore personal narratives within systems of power. My practice begins with text as a generative force that expands into visual, sonic, and participatory forms. grants Include New York Foundation for the Arts, City Artist Corps,  NYC Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) Project Grant, and residencies include Governors Island, Sanctuary City.

My long-term projects center on migration, displacement, and cultural memory. …and also with you amplifies the personal stories of asylum seekers through multiple platforms, while The Man from Eritrea—supported by a City Corps Artist Grant—traces one individual’s journey from Africa to Texas. As an artist of Nicaraguan descent, Far Away investigates Nicaraguan poetry and political legacy, featuring conversations with writer Sergio Ramirez.

Beyond studio practice, I originate, produce, and curate public programs that foster interdisciplinary dialogue.  Mixed Poetics (2023-present) which showcases how text catalyzes across artistic forms, while ab uno pluribus (2014–2019) presented monthly audiovisual collaborations.

Since 2005, I have operated Artola Digital, a post-production company serving cultural institutions and artists including the DIA Chelsea, United Nations, American Opera Project, Pat Oleszko, Phil Niblock, and Naeem Mohaiemen.  I currently teach at the School of Visual Arts across Film, Photo & Video, and Visual Critical Studies.

My work has been presented at MoMA PS1, Queens Museum, Harvestworks, Maysles Documentary Center, Wild Project, Museum of Natural History, Pioneer Works, Anthology Film Archives, and numerous other venues.
